Notes from Co-Pres:
Dear KSA Members and Supporters,

We would first like to thank all of you for coming to our annual culture show and
showing such tremendous support for BU KSA. This year has been a fulfilling
experience for both of us, and we hope you all feel the same way.

Since the huge success of last year's culture show, we came into the year knowing
that we had big shoes to fill. Despite our initial concerns, we are extremely proud of
everything KSA has achieved so far. From our famous Gangnam Style parody video to
the first annual Mr. KSA that aided the cause of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK), we have
been working tirelessly to provide a place where students have a chance to explore
the rich Korean culture and a community to call home. Of course, none of these would
have been possible without the support from you -- our alums, SAO, Allocations Board,
Tsai Performance Center, local community, and active student members.

This year, we aimed to introduce a particular aspect of the Korean culture. 궁합 (Koong-
Hap) directly translates to the word "marital compatibility," and refers to a popular trend
where couples seek out a fortune teller to predict whether or not they were "meant
to be." We hope that this refreshing and timely theme helps you gain a better
understanding of the Korean culture that people have yet to see.

The kind of collaborative effort we saw in the limited time we had to prepare
for "SeoulMates" is what inspire and challenge us as an organization. We are incredibly
grateful for all those who were committed to multiple practices during their busy weeks.
They are proof that it is not only the logistical planning that makes us a successful
student group, but also the passion for the Korean culture that brings out such
dedication.

buKSA 2013 Culture Show FB Event

Boston University's Korean Student Association has been working very hard since the end of Winter Break preparing its annual Culture Show. All of this year's participants are looking forward to a great show, but first... we need people to exhibit our hard work to!

Culture Show 2012 Videos

We sincerely apologize, but unfortunately because some of our video files got corrupted somehow we won't be able to upload videos from every single performance (including the skits). We tried our best to upload what we could so we hope you enjoy the videos below.

Last year's culture show's theme was: Wedding Clashers. The culture show told the pre-wedding story of Kelly (a Korean-American girl) and Andrew (a traditional Korean guy) as they explored each other's cultures through singing, dancing, etc. In between skits, performances were interwoven into the stories to tell the story in a different, interesting way. The finale, the fashion show, was a wedding ceremony of all of the guests.

Welcome Back!

Hey, kiddies.
Welcome back from a long break of east coast frigidity, west coast frivolity, and...well, the other states just don't really matter as much. :P

This semester is going to be very busy for those of you who are involved in the culture show...busy and fun! Our theme this year is going to be Bbooree which means Roots in English. We want to promote an awareness for Korean-Americans for our mutual roots that are grounded in folklore, music, and dance. Those of you who already signed up--GET PSYCHED! And if you missed our informational meeting/Christmas party in December, but still desperately want to get involved, do not hesitate to email us at bostonu.ksa@gmail.com!

We have a lot of great events planned for this semester, too. Look out for Ski Trip 2010 that's happening sometime in February.
